The rear diffuser sticks out past the bumper by about 1/4". From all the pictures I see it looks flush with the bumper. Am I way off? I had a body shop do it so I dont know how the thing goes on. 2004 530i btw...
If it is wrong, Is there an easy way to fix it?

Another question... What is this part for? It came with the M-tech kit and they painted it, but didnt install it. Is it Needed?

Any help would be appreciated...

The diffuser looks fine , it is designed to have that flange stick out, that other piece? no idea !

The diffuser is fine and you don't need that other piece. And no, it's not the cap for the tow. It's a lot bigger than that, even though there's no point of reference on his picture. I too, have it and asked myself what the hell it was for, but it's not needed. Funny part is, mine didn't even come painted.

Anyway, that's how the rear is supposed to look. You're all set. Now where are the rest of the pix? (Not that I should be talking with all my recent mods and no pix. )

Looks Good. I agree with the others about the exta part, it is not necessary (I can't locate it on my car!) If I remember correctly the dealer asked me if I had towing equipment installed so the piece in question may very well be the tow shield.
