There is an ad on craigslist that reads the following.....

I just wanted to verify that BBS rims are in fact OEM and not replicas.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

BBS indeed manufacturers many of original equipment wheels for BMW. If you have any concerns you can ask for pictures of the inner surface of the wheel for part numbers and confirm at http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do or with a BMW dealer parts department.

 

BBS makes the OEM M5 wheels. I would still ask for pictures of the stamps on the inside of the wheel to verify. Any replicas or copies will clearly be lower quality and usually are not nearly as concave as the real deal.

Also if they were a replica but made by BBS (which would most likely never happen), I'd rather take those over OEM!

If you're unfamiliar with BBS they make really really really really great but expensive wheels.
