Over the weekend I planned to remove my chrome door trim, sand it down and paint it matte black.
I took off the rubber seals and when looking at the clips I realised I didn't trust myself to put a screwdriver in there and hammer them out!!
I didn't want to bend them or break them.
I had some 2inch wide PVC vinyl tape, I think the label said it was for wrapping pipes?
Anyway, I though what the heck, lets see what I can do.
The top rear trim was hard as I had to stretch and curve the tape around the curve near the bottom.
The bottom trim was very easy, any air bubbles were popped with a needle and smoothed out.
I watched my girlfriend's E87 getting it's roof and mirrors wrapped on Saturday so that helped alot with how do it.
I think the weather being 25 degrees centigrade helped as it stretched easily.
I only managed to do one side before I had to go out for lunch.
I think I may try the other side with some 1 inch tape as it will be easier to manipulate around the bends.
In the morning I am having my car washed so will see how it holds up and then will post pics.
