I have a 2007 550i and I'm trying to decide between dinan exhaust, intake, and throttle body or the rpi exhaust and intake. I know the price difference is major, Dinan being more expensive but forgetting costs which will give me the better results? My goal is increase torque, horsepower and exhaust sound.

PLease advise your choice and why, thanks.

Dinan products have always produced less power than most respected aftermarket manufacturers. You'll find that most people on here will recommend RPi to fulfill all 3 of your requirements.

I think what you should do is combine. Get the RPI scoop, RPI exhaust (I'm pretty sure RPI exhaust is more HP than Dinan), get the Dinan throttle body, and possibly the Dinan intake. I can't recall if 550 can have a dual intake done - if yes, definitely go either Dinan, or home-made dual (search around the forum - couple of excellent DIY's). But dual might not work on the 550 - only 545.

oh i thoguth you meant quad setup. yes they make one for the 535xi i'ts the same fitment as 535 just a minor tweak durin ginstall

As for not making power, this actually remains to be seen. Possibly, with proper heat-shielding, you might be able to get a few good horses out of it... I would give it a try if some start up shop in NYC area wanted to do it for the name, ya know... just that there's very little space under the hood to run the second intake tubing the same way Dinan runs it on the 545.

Intake - Dinan. Looks incredible under the hood, very clean. Excellent workmanship, significant power gain, sounds amazing (though if you get the RPI exhaust you probably won't hear it much!)
Exhaust - RPI. The dinan exhaust is great, and I love the sound, but the RPI seems to have good power gains, sounds great as well, better to many people (though isn't subtle like the Dinan), plus the 3.5" tips look better IMO.
Throttle Body - I can't separate the impact of this va the other engine mods I had done, as they were all done at once; I think the impact here is on the margin.

Think about either a sprint booster or a remap as well. The best part of the software from Dinan, as I can tell, is the improvement in drivability that comes from a more linear throttle response.
