I am extremely happy to have found this forum. Just wondering if anyone has done any Dinan mods to previous generation 5 series (E39), and if so, what mods and were you happy or not with the performance/cost?

I am currently pondering a 2005 545 (or 550 if possible) vs. a 2005 M5 towards the end of the year when my current lease expires. The question is really, is it a cost effective alternative to spending upwards of $90k on M5.

So just looking for anyone with good or bad experiences with Dinan products. Thanks in advace for your help.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I am aware that Dinan has not yet offered any products for the E60. That's why I was asking about people's experience with Dinan mods for the E39. I assume that in the future they will be offering mods for the E60.

I just found another thread on this subject on this site, it seems there is mostly negative feedback on Dinan, and a little bit of positive.

Possibly, although in my experience people often put their names on waiting lists for these rare cars and then end up not buying the car. The dealers then put the car on the showroom floor with a $10k mark up, which is often negotiated down or away if the car doesn't sell. At least that's been my experience here in Southern California.

What's up with Dinan, i see on their website they don't have anything for the 745i
meaning they haven't been developing anything for the N62B44 4.4 V8 since 9/2001?.

It would've saved 'em some time in putting out toys for the 545i

I have already checked out their site. How soon? I can't wait!

Like i said, they should've had something out for the 02 745i so it would've sped up the process for the 545i.
