Finally made the decision and had a Dinan exhaust installed today. Added the software at the last minute. Couldn't resist...
So far very happy with both. I have previous experience with Dinan parts from my M3 and have always been satisfied. Exhaust sounds great, looks very well made. Staggered 3 inch stainless tips are very nice. Throttle response and transmission performance are also improved from the software. Car drives fantastic.

If you're a Dinan fan like I am, you haven't seen nothing yet till you add the Dinan cold-air intake, throttle body, and suspension. Your 545 will take on a whole new attitude, especially with your Quaife LSD. Here's an article you might be interested in reading of Steve Dinan's Steptronic 545i ...

I've personally driven this car and although I'm not a fan of automatics, this particular Dinan5 left me speechless. Although a stock 545i sport is an adequate performer, a Dinan5 steps up the driving experience by several notches in the power (>350 hp), handling (even more grip and near-flat cornering), and sound (exhaust burble is heard below 2500 rpm, but silent at cruise).

Today it's time to supercharge, not to waste money in the $1100 air intake: if you sum this little mods you would buy more than half supercharger.
I would have liked to replace the kats with 200 cells (+20 HP?), but I'm not so sure anymore.

I hear you on the cost Alex but a Dinan car is about more that just the horsepower. The turn in, response of the throttle, transmission and chassis is just a cut above a normal BMW. To me a Dinan BMW is half way between a Sport pkg BMW and an Alpina or M car. Not that I wouldn't love another 100 plus HP but I already have 10 inch wide BBS wheels with 11 inches of Michelin Pilot tread on each rear tire and I have no problem spinning the rear tires on launch. And as you know I have a Quaife LSD. The car flies and I?m just as interested in overall driving performance as just more HP alone.
Of course if someone wants me to test a 500HP Alpina B5 for the US market I'm available...

I'm always hesitant to spend the money, Dinan stuff is expensive, but when I finally break down I'm never disappointed. Definitely can't say that about every other company I?ve done business with. I try and mirror some of the Dinan philosophy, I have lightweight forged BBS LM wheels with lighter NON run flat Michelin Pilots and the LSD which I LOVE. I haven't gone with the BBK yet because I just haven't needed it. If I was a track guy I'm sure I would have them.
Unfortunately the best mod of all, the 3:45 gears, is not available for the Steptronic cars  I believe no one wants to spend the money to get the computers to work with the new gears. Going from 2:93 to 3:45 is huge. The car would be incredible.

Thanks!
