She's a beast.
Thanks for the updated review ... very tempting to go full-on Dinan instead of trading in for a used M5.

Do not reveal confidential information: "...spilled coffee all over the place" Next buyer of your car might see this post J/K

I'm serious about getting Dinan SW reflash after having CIP update!
Thanks for all reviews, guys!

Its ok I had it cleaned before I got to the office
There will not be a next buyer for my car......hopefully.

Go for it Fred. Hey, you can test drive my car (both of them) haha. I know it's not a 550 but everything that's been said about the power delivery and responsiveness here goes for the 545 as well. I love it.

If I test drive your M5, I'd leave all Dinan mod contemplation behind
If you let me test drive your 545 for a day (I'd exchange my part with your Dinan's part for your 545i ) I'd feel much better
Good enough for the joke. Hopefully, I can test drive your Dinan modded car before you sell it.

I'd say go the Dinan route if the thought of gassing up 3 to 4 times a week will burn a major hole in one's wallet ... oh, and in insurance premiums too. But if $$$ isn't a problem, go for the M5! Regardless, there's just something about a Dinan-tuned car that's just unbelievable. The power delivery in a Dinan5 545i (with CAI) is just as breathtaking as a Dinan5 550i (w/o CAI ... for now).

Hey Roel, what happened to you at the end of the drive at the Bay Area Meet. You turned into that gas station and I passed you but didn't have your number. Some of us ended back at Santana Row and went to Sino for a few drinks.

Haha ... Lesson #1: before a meet 'n greet, make sure the tank is FULL! I was a bit below 1/2 tank when I arrived at Santana Row and it was the drive thru the Santa Cruz mountains that sucked up what was left in the tank. I was in 3rd gear most of the drive up and down the mountains with several power spurts in 2nd gear through those tight corners. I got a bit paranoid cuz I was about 30 miles to empty by the time we were entering Saratoga and it didn't help that we were stuck in traffic, so I had to pull over. Didn't want to risk it! And just for kicks ... I averaged almost 10 mpg from the start to the end of the mountain drive! **OUCH**

Did you get a chance to compare acceleration with any stock 550's of ECF's Dinan 545?

I filled up my gas tank 1/4 full before greet and meet. When we headed back to Santana Row at Hwy 280, I still have 60-mile range on OBC. If went back and forth b/w 3rd and 4th during spirit driving.

No, but I did drive Dinan's black Dinan5 545 and although the car did have Steptronic, it still had lots of power in the lower revs. Not as instant and forceful vs. a manual (or SMG) transmission, but powerful throughout the revband nonetheless.
