Thanks for the info Roleez. The stock airbox on 530i has an inlet hole that sits in between the middle portion of the bumper and the kidney grills (sorry no pictures, you'll just have to use your imagination). The hole looks about the same size as the silicone hose that directs the air in from the aluminum air scoop (pictured below). I guess I could always custom fab something with laundry/dryer hoses. But that air scoop sure would look sick behind the kidney grills (like the RPI scoops for the M5/M6).

I'm planning on ordering those RPI scoops with the BMC filters until Dinan releases their CAI.

You can only see it if it's red and I've been emailing the NorCal guys here and so far the feedback has been to get black. Freed0m thinks red will look ghey. haha I think it'll give it that evil look with two red eyes lurking behind the grille.
Anyway, the BMCs are drop in filters, not the conical open air ones like the K&N Typhoon intake for the M5 so I don't think there'll be much of an induction sound. People have had bad experiences with the Typhoon; frequent fault messages and I've heard nothing but good reviews on the BMCs so far.
I'll definitely post pics once they're installed.

My Ride: 07' 550i sport; Sapphire Black/Auburn; sport package; steptronic; navigation with R.T.T.I.; heads up; cold weather package; Logic-7; BMW MOST ipod kit; Motorola V3 snap-in adapter; rear heated seats and rear shades; anthracite headliner; sirrius sat. radio; M-aero kit; OEM style 166 Wheels with 245/35-19 front and 285/30-19 rear Michelin PS2s.
How much power is added by just the K&N filter and removal of the charcoal filter? 15,16 hp? Perhaps the CAI prevents power loss as opposed to giving additional power? I'd like to see stage 4 software to take advantage of the CAI more. Over 20+ hp would be something. For $1,300.00 installed? I need more power.

Aftermarket intakes never make more power than a few modest HP/torque gains; they're mostly just for sound. The stock airbox in our E60's essentially is a cold air intake. So dropping in a K&N filter just lets it breath easier and creates a lil more power at the top end.

It's not that Dinan's products do not void BMW's warranty. Dinan just has a warranty of their own that's matched mile-per-mile to the factory warranty. They will also cover consequential damages to other parts of the car if their parts caused the failure. But as with all aftermarket stuff, your dealer can't deny you warranty claims unless they can prove the aftermarket part directly caused the problem for the warranty claim. My dealer has never questioned me whenever I've brought my car in for service or repair work.
The warranty topic is separate from Dinan's relationship with most BMW dealers. Now that BMW is starting their own performance line, a lot of BMW dealers may no longer be Dinan dealers but the Dinan warranty is still offered by Dinan.
Hope that makes sense.
