Dinan 550i Software (Stage 1 --D900-505)
Hi Fellow Members,
Has anyone here installed only the Dinan software (Stage 1) on their E60 550i? Just KN Filter-- no special intake or exhaust? I would like to know if it makes much of a difference. Cost is only $400. Thx.

When I drive the car after it is reprogrammed or the adaptations are cleared, it drives like a new car-- quick, responsive and aggressive. But after a day or two, it losses its edge because it learns your driving style and adapts. I'm told the Dinan software increases the quickness and eliminates the learning/adaptation problem, so it stays more aggressive all the time. Dinan still has a learning mode...however with Dinan, power and performance will increase up to 100 miles. After that, the system has completed the learning function and stays aggressive. I would love to hear from someone who has done it-- not just the folks selling it. Anyone? Thx.

My Ride: 09 550i 6sp M-Tech. 18mm spacers rear, 8mm front. Dinan intake and Stage 2 tune. Tinted tails, M5 OEM lip spoiler.
08 Z4 3.0si Black on Black with Beige top. Removable hardtop. (Hers)
06 Volvo S60R Heavily Modded!! Gone and missed.
He means OEM "Original Equipment Manufacturer". Installing a Dinan tune does not affect your factory warranty. There are more agressive tunes availible out there, but options on the 4.8 are limited.
I can tell you going the other way on stage 2 didnt work at all. I installed my intake myself before I got the tune programmed and the car was undriveable from the bottom end. Drive from the house to the dealer that day was interesting.
