When you call BMW and ask if they bring a software update what allows watching DVD's on the nav drive they just simply confirm it and don't add, thta TV function is required.
So I guess the TV will not be required, but it wouldn't surprise me at all...

you dont need the bigger screen for the tv. you can get the tv function on the regular 6:5 screen. I ordered the tv function but canceled it later because i saw how poor the reception was.

Over here the same... Just checked the optionsheet and it states that you need 609 nav pro for TV function

in the brochure it says that you do need the the pro nav, but if you build an E60 on bmw.co.uk which is more updated than the brochure it says that only you only need the advanced air con.
