Are the shocks the same in both the Sport and nonsport? The reason I ask...I've seen pictures of non-sports lowered and was wondering if my Sport would look identical if I used the same springs (or would my car be even lower)?!? I know that the Sport is typically lower than the non-Sport in stock form. By the way, this board is priceless!!!

So should I expect a lower ride on my Sport if I used the same springs?

I think the ride height would be the same, but the standard shocks arnt as stiff in damping, and you probably wont have a very nice ride.

Other cars I have seen where people have just changed the springs and not the shocks, have resulted in very bouncy cars

Not true, I got a sport, added H&R Sport springs, It only lowered the car about an extra inch if that, but the ride is much, much better now. Even with 20" wheels.

take a sport suspension as engineered by BMW and put a 'custom' lowering ring.

no M can beat.

Exactly what is a 'custom' lowering ring? Are these like lowering blocks?
