I think you definitely rushed the tinting part. No way can it look that bad if you had the patience for it with those creases. The debadge looks clean but can't really tell with no closeup shots of it debadged. I say try again with the film. Did you heat it up to make it stretch a bit more?
i never used tint film, i guess i should just go to a tint shop and have them to do it for me
and i think i will tint my windows too, i will post pics after i am done

Hey Dalaw, try PMing wacopolumbo. He recently re-did his tint on his taillights. Maybe he has some pointers. He said it came out okay besides the bubbles which he said he'll fix later. The tint he got was also a bit short but after heating it, he said it was okay. The taillights is a good DIY but I wouldn't recommend the windows. Leave that to the pros because you'll be greatly stress out just from the rear alone. I was also thinking about saving some money on it with a DIY,but at the end the windows are better off with the pros.

I bought that smoked tint film as well and debated putting it on myself...
thanks for convincing me to take it to a shop! There is no way I am trying it myself now...
Luckily it was only $30, right?

I have to say , I do beleive we have bmw snobs, if you want to de-badge do it, you know what you have , who gives a toss what other folks think , you still own a high end luxury car called an e60
so lets all relax and enjoy each others input instead of bullshit comments stating people are pretending to have 550 's etc
okay I chilled out and got off my soap box

My friend was in Accident in his STI. Somebody hit him from the back.
Insurance people gave him very hard time as he had film on the tail light. They actully did the light test from different distance and all that crap.
I would suggest not to Smoke it at all.
