Recently bought an AFE intake and dont believe I secured it properly, Which caused my Check engine light to pop up, for increased emmisions. dealership charges $95 to run the test and turn off the light, so I decided to buy one of these diagnostic scanners, not the most supped up ones, but something basic.
Results:
Reads you the code which you can look up on their site and allows you to clear the codes and turn off the check engine light.
So if anyone in the NYC area has the same or similar issue and want to meet up and scan their car, let me know and maybe we can arrange something.
Hopefully this can also help someone else as paying $100 to the dealer for absolutely nothing is a waste of money for all of us.

I bought the Equus Innova OBD-II code scanner at Sears for $69.99... worked like a charm.. I got a random Increased Emissions warning (probably from my recent CAI install) and was able to clear the Service Engine Soon light on the dash and the Increased Emissions warning in the iDrive.. I helped member lilazngrl4o8 with her error code too, so the code-scanner is worth it so far... and like Eugene134, I'm willing to help any Bay Area member out if they need to use my scanner...
