I have the Dension 500 and notice on your screenshots that you have the artist and track name displayed when you're in shuffle mode.
What settings or listing technique do you use in iTunes (or similar) on your MP3 files to allow this to happen? Mine only shows the track names when I'm in shuffle mode, and it would be nice to have the artist showing too. i.e: "Cliff Richards - Summer Holiday"
or "Barry Manilow - Copacabana"
rather than just "Summer Holiday" and Copacabana"
Thanks in advance
Marc

Which hard disk size do you use?
I use a 120 GB 2.5 Inch hard disk and it works perfectly.
The only thing I notice is a regularly check of the tracks on the disk. That takes several minutes (10 - 20) and "searching track" is displayed

Did it work? if it doesn't, try updating your IPod to the latest f/w update 1.3...i'm currently on this firmware...fyi i've just ordered the IVE1000 for IPod video capabilty. Lets just hope everything goes well. Dension recommends f/w 1.2 on their website...but, i've already uploaded 1.3 on my IPod...i'll update you on the end results of the install later once i recieve the goods...

Worked a dream!! Cheers again mate.
I'm not going to bother with the video extension doobree. I'm happy just having my 5000 tracks available at the push of a button.
Thanks again for the info!

as i promised in a previous post of our forum member, muttley's thread, http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=48749&st=0 (see post 15), i'm posting pictures of what this great gadget does in integration with the BTA1000...the sound quality of ipod, usb hdd, thumbdrive, a2dp audio playback via bluetooth and the phone function works great...it also retains the cdc, so i can still play my 6 discs if i want...i've attached here pictures of the UI when in use...
Attachment 46651
my UI which has been updated to ver 27.x a couple of months ago...
Attachment 46652

hello. just wondering. i have a 2004 545i without nav. i do have a cd changer installed and it does play mp3. will this workon my car? alsodo you have to manually switch between cd changer via dipswitches? or can you access both cd and i pod from i-drive? thanks
Attachment 46658
playlist search with ipod
Attachment 46659
aux audio input via GW500(i now have an extra aux in my car...)
Attachment 46660
bluetooth a2dp source selection via GW500
Attachment 46661
a2dp bluetooth audio with my WM6 O2 Atom Life
Attachment 46662
incomig call via bluetooth gateway500...
Attachment 46663
i actually have OEM bluetooth in the car connected with a V3i as primary...Now i can use both my phone via bluetooth while in the car...
so, this is how it'll look and function when Dension GW500 + BTA1000 is hooked up...i'm planning to order the IVE1000 which will hook up to the ACM...this will make the ipod video function work with movie on the screen displayed...

2) Yes. it has to be switched manually, but not via dipswitch, but a button on the 'aux input box' included in the package of the module...
3) You can access both CDC and GW500 via i-drive...the beauty of this gadget is that it integrates with the cars system via entertainment menu...plus, you get to retain your CDC function, and an extra USB port...
What i did is even better, i added on another module with the GW500, a bluetooth access module (BTA1000) for bluetooth audio via A2DP + a 2nd phone pairing (with voice dialing function via BTA1000) at the same time your 1st phone pairs with your OEM bluetooth...
Go on with the purchase...i highly recommend this gadget!

Is the MP3 function necessary? Because I have Text enabled, not MP3, and I have a CDC. Will it work? From what I read on the support page of Dension, it only requires text to be enabled right, not necessarily MP3.
