Thumbs up

Guys, this car is very irritating.. Just received a call from the dealer saying they don't know if they will succeed in reprogramming the cae because of the Dension.
Did anyone update the car with the Dension installed?

yes - there is a switch in your dension that allows you to bypass it. bypass it and you can program your car without a problem.

here is a pic: http://www.syed.at/dension/DSC00308.JPG

it is next to the cinch inputs..

on the very left, you see this little box - there are two inputs (red and then white) and then next to those inputs (still in the same box), there is this switch. that switch bypasses the dension when pressed..

I didn't installed that part. I flew to the dealer (full congestion and my Mini done miracles) and bring it there, saying install it and bypass the Dension.
I start to be tired of this car, but especially of my dealer!

Alex,

Not sure which version of GW500 you have, mine is w/ dual fiber connector and my car is w/ non-NAV and what I did is using install type 3b from the install manual so set GW500 dip switches 1,2 & 6 up/on and plug the MOST fiber in then have the dealer program the car to enable iPod interface and the BMW SSS programming station will see the GW500 as an iPod interface.

It will not work if you use the CD Changer path.

GL!

Update:
They cannot reprogram the car because of the M5 instrument cluster. They installed the old cluster and they told me all is blocked with lights on, so they are evaluating to reinstall everything as it was 2 days ago (non heatable steering and M5 cluster) and give me the car back.
Now I need suggestions from people with M5 cluster and who had reprogrammed the car recently reinstalling the factory one.

Alex if you dont have the bypass switch then get the dealers to programme the Dension as the iPOD and that will work.
