Has anyone on here successfully got Dension Gateway 500 to work with Spotify? I have read it works to stream the songs and that is cool but can you actually control the play list by browsing to the next song via the steering wheel controls?

You can do track up on the wheel and it will change it to next or previous track.

Hi. Did you every try this out? When i'm in "iPod GW" mode i get the track information, but can't use the steering wheel controls... And in "iPod UI" mode I can use the controls, but won't get any track information... Everything works well when playing in iTunes though, I think it might override Spotify in GW mode.

 

Nope. Was about to purchase Dension of eBay from someone in the UK (2nd hand) and I was told it wouldn't have support for Spotify so passed on the purchase at that time. Did you get this working on your iPhone or was it just on the iPod? Thing is in my specific case, which I did not mention earlier I only have AUX setup. I assume you are using the iPhone/iPod connection. So I would still have to retrofit the iPhone kit. My hope with Dension is that I would control and play songs via Bluetooth so I could save and skip on getting the retrofit kit.

I got the GW500 fitted, and its works with my ipod classic, ipod touch & iphone when docked, and as a bonus I also fitted a BlackBerry Bluetooth Stereo Gateway in to the Aux input and I now get streaming over A2DP & Airplay

Nice! Does it work to control Spotify over controls? For my specific case I was hoping it would work to control what song is playing via the steering wheel. I don't really need the ID3 information on the screen as long as I can change songs via the steering wheel I am a happy camper.
