Dension Gateway 500 - Operation

I've got a question about how the Dension (and BMW Ipod adapter for that matter) handle finding an album.
Using iPod source...
Obviously using the album search I could go straight to the album name, but if you go via the artist list, do you then just get a list of ALL the songs by that artist from ALL their albums? Are they ordered by album? I'm comparing to the iPod operation where you select artist then get a list of all albums containing songs by the artist, then seleting an album you get all the songs from that album.
Using USB HDD source...
Am I right in thinking that you navigate using the folder structure as written to the USB HDD? (Much the same as using an MP3 CD)
Still trying to decide whether to pay more for the Dension or get the BMW version?!?

By searching from artist you get all their songs. haven't tried using the hdd
