Default Dension 500 help

Hello gents. I'm planning on getting this used dension 500 for my 2006 BMW 530xi. The car has cd changer in glove box has no aux input and no navi. The seller had it installed in a 2006 Audi a6. He claims it's compatible with my BMW. Is this true? Thanks Name: D87AA819-18FF-4466-8902-A2B51CDF5E9A.png

email dension. but i believe it will work. you will need to have cd changer coded if you do not already have it. besides that, you just plug it into your existing fiber optic line. i have some videos on yotube showing you how to do it.

Thanks roskinc. Not sure what u mean about having the cd coded? I thought I was losing my cd changer? Also what things can I actually do with this dension500? Any video capabilities? Or this jus let's me stream music ? And that's about it

Ok. I been looking into the dension 500. And just wondering is it worth the money? The unit I'm thinking of buying. Used is going to cost me $260. That's without the avr module which I learned gives me video capabilities. The avr module cost around 180-200$. So really what's the difference from Let's say the $25 aux cable roskinc sells and the way more expensive dension 500?

dension, if you have cd changer in the glovebox, no coding needed.

difference between aux and dension...is the extra money worth the ability to change tracks with the steering wheel control?

navigating through the menu with the idrive isnt that great, really much faster to just search for songs with the phone manually. it is much more time consuming and distraction doing it via the gateway than manually.

it shows track titles as well, which is cool, but look into the cost factor as well.

if you want cd quality sound and dont care about steering wheel control or track list, aux will be cheapest best route. i love the dension, and i use the gateway 500s bt, love it, but i did fine with aux before then. i also have used the dension smartlink and icon.
