So since purchasing my m5 wheels last yr I bent them about 8 times on my 245/35 & 275/30s. So I decided to take a risk and see if I can fit 245/40 & 275/35s and run les risk of bending. Everything fit rather well. I have a slight rubbing issue on my front passenger side wheel well on big dips. All the other wheels are fine. I was a bit confused as to why only 1 tire was rubbing and not the adjacent side. with the bigger tires in there there is less of a gap between tire and wheel well and made it easier to compare sides. Looks like my pass front side sits about an inch and a half lower then the driver side. I took my car into BMW to find the problem and after 24 hours of researching they found out that the car was designed this was purposely for some odd reason...

Is this correct? What would be the reason for this? My car is still with BMW now so I wanna do some research of my own and call their bluff if they're just blowing smoke up my ass. Anyone ever herd of this? Anyone else have different wheel well gaps?

every car is like that. r/f will always be slightly lower than l/f. probably a compensation for driver's weight if you asked me! all the euro manufactures believe in that 50/50 weight ratio or as close to it as they can come.

+1 the car was designed to be lower on the passenger side.

I disagree. If you have a 1.5" difference something is not right! An unladen car on level ground should have the same measurement from floor to wheelarch on driver and passenger sides (within the manufacturing tolerances). Can you imagine a new car sitting in a showroom with a 1.5" difference at the front? It would look like it had a flat tyre!
I have only ever experienced this issue once with a new car (not BMW),it was back at the dealer a few times for replacement suspension bushes, etc, which only partially corrected the fault until the bushes had settled. It turned out to be a faulty front suspension spring, once that was replaced the car sat level.
