I kinda like it
The 5er badge was made up using different letters from other BMW models. So, no, you cannot order it as is.

What's the big deal? It's an M logo not an M5 logo. Doesn't BMW put the M logo on other cars besides the M5? I agree, M5 only on a car born as an M5, M logo on others to me is Okay.
If you want to go another angle. I think replica wheels are worse? At least the logo is made by BMW and not trying to look like any other. BTW, my intention is not to put down rep wheel owners, I think they're great. I'm just saying why is the M logo so taboo and not replica wheels?

In the end it's how YOU want YOUR car to look.

In Europe, the ///M logo gets installed on your trunk by the dealership. All it means is that you have ///M Motorsport parts installed on the car, which BTW also have the ///M logo on them. IMO there is NOTHING wrong with this. You can't get this done by a dealer in the states.

Technically, in some instances the ///M logo can refer to a true M car when the badge is placed beside a specific model badge (eg. X5///M, X6///M, or Z4///M)

I don't pass judgment on anyone who spends $$$ to install M5 parts on a non-M5. But for me personally, if I wanted my car to look like an M5 I would have bought a real one.
