Thought Id pass on my thoughts, after the DMS boys have done their magic.

The car, has imediate throttle response, I know now it didnt before. The power hits as soon as you press the juice and pushes you through 60mph in 5.5 seconds and on to 100 in 13....

The torque really pushes into your back as you accelarate and you get a geet big cheesy grin on your face all the time....

Oh yeah...then you sellect DS and the gears stay in for longer and the grin gets wider...

Anyhoo dont know what I'm doing gibbering on to you lot, I'm going out for a drive....

The car is great in standard, but its the car it should be now

Dawn it, you guys are lucky to have 535d with 344 hp and 506lbft of torque. Also, it's not as heavy as V8. What a blast!

V8 is too heavy, and not agile as I6. I think 535i would be an alternative choice for us here. However, carfreak, we both are unlucky that California does not want diesel to be here. WTH.

According to BMW's UK website the 535d and 550 weigh the same.

Four days ago I installed a ?Powerbox? from Mehrleistung.com and was very pleased, more power, smoother and seems to increase mpg a lot! But today it lost power and stops revving around 3500-3900 rpm, I don?t know why yet. After I ?disabled? the box, cars was almost as usual.

Indeed. The posts above were implying there was a significant weight difference.
