very cool, but if i cant use the steering control or idrive knob to control anything, i don't see it being very use full at all, less work to get a video module and do video out, atleast then getting to the idrive menu wouldn't be a hassle.

Although I miss using my buttons a little, I use widgets and an app called "Assistant" that performs almost every function and activates with a special word; Waze is used for my daily navigation (I wave my hand 3 times within camera view to interact with it). I am looking for a bluetooth keyboard with just a few basic buttons on it that can be mounted somewhere near the steering wheel (or even replace the Idrive controller if it's not too ugly.) in case I feel like being vintage.

It is held in place only by pressure from the front and rear monitor bracket... I put a few pieces of soft plastic where they touch the tablet so it doesn't leave any scratches in case I need to have it repaired while it's under warranty. I will remove it and take a picture of it one of these days to show how easily it can be removed but how good the grip is while it's installed.

So you used a after market amp? Any way you can take pix or tell us more details? I'm Tryna do something along this line but can't seam to figure out how to get a aux input or a way to play the sounds from my Devise.

I had to use the aftermarket amp because of the stock fiberoptic amp... no new wires needed as the center channel can be used as a run back to the amp. Use a pre-amp booster (one with a volume button) because the audio output from the tablet is too low by itself... this can be installed under the old nav unit above the PDC and DSC buttons as my car had a bunch of space underneath it. You will loose the chimes and PDC sound in most cases. I can't take anymore pics as I sold the car (started having transmission gear ratio problems) but in my case I wasn't afraid to poke around and cut into the MOST bus since it was already broken.
