Thought I'd share the info. I had a pair of Philips Ultinon 6000K HID bulbs from my previous car and when I went to install them, to my horror they didn't fit. I thought I had done enough research but, apparently sylvania's site hadn't updated for the LCI. So instead of spending a couple hundred to buy D1S bulbs, I found D1S to D2S convertors on ebay and gave it a try. Fits and works perfectly and saved some $$$.

Hope this helps anyone with D2S bulbs laying around...

Ya, it's basically an external ignitor that accepts a cable from the oem ballast. Then you just insert your D2S bulb and reuse the oem plastic surround. No clearance or light out issues either, fits nicely in the compartment. Most difficult part was getting the headlight itself out (I have big hands )

Now what to do with my oem d1s bulbs....
