Are you running an aftermarket map?

If so it could be a little rich.

Also could be a clogged air filter, fuel filter, fuel line.

Black smoke is usually not as concerning as blue and grey smoke.

I am running JB4 map 2. Originally I think I was burning fuel since I had a leaky injector, so that got fixed and took care of the black smoke on hard acceleration. But I also get clouds of white/grey smoke when idling from time to time. Bmw shop foreman said the car is running rich too.

White/grey smoke like that are usually from your turbos going out.

The sound on the system is awesome. I couldn't be more happier with it. I get compliments on the exhaust all the time. With the JB4 on the car really screams!

stupid question...
just had the same thing done and my 2in/2out muffler hangs a little lower than stock therefore scraped speed bumps ever so slightly because im lowered.. does your muffler hang down any further past the edge of the heat shield.

spent 120/hour to have mine done and had to take a torch today along with a hammer and try and re shape it.

Nice work,
Car sounds great. When researching quad exhaust for the e60 N54 engine it is limited in what videos you can find. Would you create a video for sound from the cabin with windows up and down for reference? Do you plan on dyno'n your car to see the power output? Again great job, would like to replicate that quad exhaust look for my e60 535i.

Cheers

Looks good bro. I'm gonna do the same for my '08'535i but with 3" pipe only all the way thru! 😁
