Custom painted motor shrouds
Hello everyone, just finished this up tonight. I used my cars code, a08 and additionally a31 paint. silver gray metallic and that beautiful red is indianapolis red
id love to see some more custom painted shrouds. ill take a pic of them installed. i was thinking about also painting the air box cover silver with one red strip to tie it all together.
lmk what you think.

My Ride: 2008 535i LCI with sports/premium package, Sports trans with paddle shifters, CF emblems, JB4 Software, Dinan Exhaust, Navigation, M5Tech body kit, Carbon wrap interrior trim and CIC Controller.
Bill, did you tape all of that up? I think it looks very nice.

Haha yup. 1/4" fine line works perfectly for this.
Used an airbrush for the red, taped if off then shot the silver after peeling be tape. Adhesion promotors is a beautiful thing!

Did you use a rattle can for the silver? What kind of paint did you use? How did you get the plastic cleaned enough to ensure adhesion?

To ensure adhesion, I used a scuff pad and an adhesion promotor.. I taped right over the red paint to protect it and the tape wouldn't pull it off. Hope this helps.

going to do the airbox with a red stipe and possibly that long black piece of alum/steel the the hood latches into above the radiator in silver. ill post some more pics if i make more progress.
