Custom painted motor shrouds
2 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone, just finished this up tonight. I used my cars code, a08 and additionally a31 paint. silver gray metallic and that beautiful red is indianapolis red
id love to see some more custom painted shrouds. ill take a pic of them installed. i was thinking about also painting the air box cover silver with one red strip to tie it all together. lmk what you think. Attachment 156312 little closer.. Attachment 156313 :number1: |
Bill, did you tape all of that up? I think it looks very nice.
|
Haha yup. 1/4" fine line works perfectly for this.
Used an airbrush for the red, taped if off then shot the silver after peeling be tape. Adhesion promotors is a beautiful thing! |
Did you use a rattle can for the silver? What kind of paint did you use? How did you get the plastic cleaned enough to ensure adhesion?

To ensure adhesion, I used a scuff pad and an adhesion promotor.. I taped right over the red paint to protect it and the tape wouldn't pull it off. Hope this helps. |
I think I'll drop mine off with you next time I'm up in NH at my supplier!!!!!
