So instead of waiting for a super expensive RPI exhaust, I've decided to piece together my own exhaust. After researching, I've found that many people use the Magnaflow 14816 muffler but other than that, do people run resonators or anything else from the catback to the muffler? I am not looking for anything crazy loud or droning. Just something where I can hear my car when I step on the gas.

 

I wouldn't recommend that muffler for a 535i as it only has a 2.25" inlet. By the time you buy the parts to have something custom built you could probably just spring for the entire magnaflow kit. MagnaFlow E60 535i BMW Exhaust System

 

I've seen That magnaflow kit go as low as $750 from vendors on EBay in the past.

 

Could you share the vendor(s) ebay ID? For $750 I would jump all over it!

 

krazyksmotorsports offered me a quote of $713.25 as the lowest he could go, this was back in August so not sure if he is still selling this item.

 

Are there any sound clips for the magnaflow exhaust?

 

I bought the magnaflow 14816 2 weeks ago had them install it last week. The muffler shop did have to cut the pipe and weld on a 2.5 towards the end. I dont really feel a difference in power. Love the sound though.

 

All you replaced was the muffler? Can you please post a vid from the outside?
