Cracked wheel, what should I do?
Tire was losing air rather slowly, took off the wheel and found a crack on the inside of the rim about an inch long. What do you recommend have it repaired for $125.00 or just buy a new rim? Thoughts please?

No thought involved.
Change it, Change it, Change it.
Check on RealOEM - wheels aren't as expensive as you may think (especially as you'll only be buying one, not four!

yaaa replae it, chk on ebay or clist if your lookin to save $ gl
Checked out both of those places and could not find anything.
I replaced one about a year ago at my dealer and it cost nearly $500. I just discovered another rim is cracked and this time I am getting it repaired. The total cost is supposed to be $225, including rebalancing it and the guy picks up and delivers. If you don't want to go that route, you could try these guys who have the best price for a refinished (possibly repaired) wheel: http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com/
After you pay shipping and tire remove/replace/rebalance, I think you will be well over $250. Which is why I am using the repair option. I've read mixed thoughts on wheel welding repairs, but since this crack is on the inside at the edge, repair is considered a safe option.
I think the BMW style 124 rims are a fundamentally bad design and inferior quality product. BMW should have recalled them. There are far too many reports of these rims cracking on the inside like two of mine have done. However, this and the use of runflats are my only quality complaints with this car so far.
