I got some rims on order and should be here soon... what would be the correct tire size for 20x9 and 20x10.5? The car is a 2008 535i and will be lowered on H&R sport springs.

245/35/20, 275 or 285/30/20

 

+1...I have gone both size 275&285.

 

I would go with 245/35/20 in the front and 285/30/20 in the rear. When calculating the correct tire size it should be 245/30/20 and 285/25/20, but I personally like the 35/30 series tires for more meat on them. Let me know if you need some pricing on tires

What offset did you get?

 

To follow the original overall diameter for a wheel+tyre, the correct sizes would actually be 245/30 and 275 or 285/25.
The recommnded sizes on above posts increase the overall diameter of the wheel+tyre by 1", and therefore may cause rubbing.

I just ordered tyres for my new 20" wheels too, I chose the 235/35 R20 in front and 275/30 to give the wheel some protection.

With those sizes the rears will rub, you'll have to roll your rear fenders.
Recommended tires sizes for 20's on our cars? 245/30/20 front and 295/25/20 rears, but not too many have the balls to run 25 series rear tires. I don't, my current tires are 245/35/20 F and 275/30/20 R.

 

245/35/20 front and 275/30/20 rear should not rub but you will have a slight streched look for the rear.

That's correct.
Rubbing may occur though. It very much depends on offsets and other little things, like camber and even the manufacturer of the tyre (the shape of the shoulder, actual width etc.).

Thanks antti. How come rubbing would be an issue? Is it cause of the inner tire rubbing against shock towers?
