Hey all, I am considering a 530d remap. Am in the UK, so any advice would be great. Any views on the difference between DMS and the HARTGE options welcome. I understand DMS have a discount for forum members - if so - how could I take advantage of that ?

Finally, i want to get an IPOD option installed. Any AV specialists I should go to ?

Thanks

Hi There,

i am also in the UK and about to take delivery of a new E61 530d on March 1st to replace my current E60 530d. I have been looking at remap options and Celtic seem to offer the most "bang for the buck" - see my earlier post below. However - I can't vouch for them myself as I haven't had the remap yet! Can't help you on the iPod option though - my new car has the factory installed USB/Aux option.

ORIGINAL POST BELOW

Anyone used Celtic Tuning?
Hi All,

I've been looking at what's available to remap my next E60 530d. I've spoken to AC Schnitzer, DMS Automotive and several others.

The company that I am currently considering is Celtic Tuning - they seem to have about the best price / performance gains out there and appear to be reliable. Does anyone have any experience with this firm? The price is half that of DMS (and about a quarter of ACS!) 290BHP and 452lb-ft (612NM) sounds pretty good for ?425.

See details below for what they offer:

"Thank you for your enquiry with Celtic Tuning.

As one of the UK's leading Turbo Diesel tuning companies we can provide for all your electronic and mechanical tuning requirements. As we write and develop our own software in house it allows us to be able tailor our maps to suit every individual requirement from road use to track use.

The 3.0d engine we can take from 235bhp up to 290bhp and from 369lbft torque up to 452lbft torque giving a very impressive performance gain and all within safe design tolerance of the engine and drive train components. Reviews of some of our diesel remaps are located here if you should wish to browse: http://www.celtictuning.co.uk/testim...mwtestimonials

All of our software has been developed using a MAHA LPS 3000 rolling road. This ensures performance accuracy, reliability and also that your vehicle is MOT compliant for emissions testing.

The cost of the remap is ?425 all inclusive for which we travel to your location whether it is home or work place. This comes with a 14 day money back guarantee which gives you plenty of time to ensure it is exactly what you are after."

Hi all

Newbie to the site but thought id add my bit - Bluefin!!! Amazing just had this done to my 530d msport and the results are incredible. I was always sceptical about these kind of things but took the plunge after a friend mentioned it again. Superchip do bluefin, so i had total faith in them, and boy do they know what they are doing. It is a very simple process and doesnt take much time to do. I guarentee you will be amazed by the results and the torque my god its like a train!!!!!!!!

My Ride: E60 530d Remapped 292BHP
Default

Morning all,

I've had my 04 530d auto mapped for over a 18 months now, she still pulls strong with over 73000 miles on the clock. no problems with the map.

Every now and then i'll get black smoke when under load, normal driving is fine. mpg will go up if you can stop yourself from using all the new power .

i've gone from 218bhp to 271bhp

I've take it in for service and warranty work at a local stealer and they've never said a thing about it.

Remaps recommended

PS I used Red Dot Racing down in Enfield, north London. very good price and has a dyno too.

I used Evolve in Luton. Good work, good service, and you can even get the small box to be able to switch back and force. Car is now 110k km and still run fine, and never failed any pollution test. No issues at all. Also got sprint booster installed with selectable programming. Yet don't forget to get swirl flaps removed and be careful on who you choose to do this work. Some poor quality blanking plates around...
