My Ride: 2006 525i, Premium,Cold,Xenon Packages
Hi,
I am interested in buying M5 166 for my Silver Gray 525i 2006... I checked bmwwheels.com and their quote is $1600 Shipped for New OEM wheels. Where as here: http://www.finishlinewheels.com/specials/2...taggered+19%22/ they have it $1000 shipped.
What are the cons of buying these replicas? I would rather save $600 towards M-Aero Kit. Pls Advice. Thanks!

In my opinion, replicas are a hit or miss. I know many people who have had replicas for several years and experience zero problems. Weight is usually relatively the same if you choose a decent replica brand (Moven). So you are pretty much gambling when buying replicas and if you try to sell them, resell value drops significantly.
So if you are willing to take the gamble, go nuts. What are the cons of the M-Tech Aero Replica kit though? Are there any? I read somewhere, if u hit curb with Mtech replica, it would shatter.. what wot doesnt break when u hit curb, even oem Mtech would need to be replaced if it hit curb right
Now, that MTech Replica $700 w/o paint I guess right? how much does it cost for paint.. I am primarily only looking for Front/Side pieces only.. i prefer stock back bumper w/ Rear Reflectors

With replica body kits there is a high probability that it will not fit exactly. Your body shop will most likely have to modify some parts to make it fit.

Probably cost 700-1000 to paint depending on quality and the shop.
The shattering is obviously exaggerated. But it is more fragile than theOEM one. Just don't hit anything.
The replica will probably fit 90% like all aftermarket bumpers. Mtech OEM so its pretty much 100% fitment.
