Thumbs up

Hey guys,

Why would one choose to lower the car with lowering springs/struts instead of coilovers beside price? What is advantage/disadvantage of going with lowering spring/struts compared to coilovers or vice versa?

I don't track the car and I don't want slammed look either. I just want a little more aggressive stance and better handling ability on the street. Does this mean lowering spring and struts are the way to go?

There's really no difference in terms of performance. Price really is the only advantage of a spring/shock setup. GET COILOVERS! DO IT!

Hm.... if that's the case, then why get coilovers? Just trying to see if coilovers will be worth it for my purpose.

With coilovers, you can adjust the height on how low you want your car to sit. Most coilover setups come with adjustable damper control so you can adjust the stiffness of the ride.

With springs, what you see is what you get. You can't adjust the height. But most aftermarket shocks offer adjustments for stiffness.

It's all a matter of personal preference.

Do I need to get wheel alignment every time I adjust height with coilovers?
