Hey guys

I have been thinking about coilovers because it would be nice to be able to have the car nice and low in the summer and then raise it back up a bit for the winter (snow). My question is would it then be necessary to do an alignment on the car each time I move the suspension up or down? that could get very costly, esspecially because I have active steering.

some would argue with me, but i say yes. anytime you adjust the height or rebound, you'd want to get an alignment.

in addition, when i found my perfect height - i got a four corner balancing in addition to a regular alignment. WOW, what a huge difference!

btw, when you're ready for coils - PM me, i'll hook you up!

I would agree as well. Any time you change anything in the suspension you should get an alignment afterward.

I'm surprised that a little change up or down would mack that big of a difference.

Let the coilovers settle in a bit, than set it to the exact height you would be happy with , than align it.

I am considering coilovers because I would like to be able to lower the car in the summer but raise it back up a bit for the winter but I don't want to have to incure the cost of an alignment every season.

If you plan an changing the hieght by that amount, there is no way around not doing an alignment. Its either align it, or change your tires more often due to uneven tire wear.
