Hi
High Beam assist was first a option on the E60/61 from Sept. 2005 , but can with out any problems be refitted to E60/61 pre Sept. 2005 , I have done it on my Dec. 2003
It only takes the Mirrow with the FLA camera and a coding.

Hi
Att: BLooD , regarding the outside mirrow's aut. dimming function , you will have to be sure that you have them connected to the inside back mirrow , due to it is that , that controls the dimming of the outside mirrow' , please look it up in the BMW WDS. ( you must have either 2 wire's form the inside mirrow to each of the outside mirrow's , or from the door modul ( HIGH ) to each outside mirrow
, depending of the prod. date of the car ).
Att : tsaros , please look up the thread elswere here on the forum regarding this issue
.
Regards
BenAnd

BenAnd I have just looked at the WDS, On my E60 I have no door modules and the mirrors are connected to the body gateway module (KGM) on pins 14 and 23 (lin bus connection) plus 2 cables goto to the interior mirror from pins 44 and 45 of the body gateway module (KGM) plus one from the interior mirror to the light module.

Hi BLooD
I know this sound stupid
, but I have to ask you , do you have the right outside mirrow-glas mounted ? the type with 4 wire's comming out from each mirrow-glas ? ( +/- for heating & +/- for dimming ), the purple and black ( if I remember right ) must go to the KGM modul ( or alternativ direct to the inside rearview mirrow , to witch pin's you can see in the WDS ) , the outside mirrow's only dime together with the inside rearview mirrow , it is this that gives the "command" to the outside mirrow's regarding to dime , but I gess you allready know's that ?
Regards
BenAnd

the basic mirrors fitted had 4 wires going to the KGM module, I got some SA430 mirrors from a 2008 car, these have 3 wires, red for live,. brown for ground and green for LIN bus. Theres a small control module inside the mirrors, all functions work just fine except the auto dim.
