Thanks Andy for great sharing , I managed to have my cable with USB to serial adapter to work yesterday ... I gave it a try today morning to read some NCS files but it give some error during reading from ECU ... will check it out and then follow your steps .. I would love to activate all the above options ,, some of then already there but still nice to activate the rest ..

Just looking through the HUD trace, there a couple more you might want to try unless there already working:-
TELEFON_AUSSTATUNG
set to AKTIV, looks like it shows incoming call info.
ENTERTAINMENT_AUSSTATTUNG
set to AKTIV, looks like this shows entertainment info.
As for M_PARAMETER it only has one setting and thats wert_01
M_SPORT_HUD has three settings :-
aktiv, aktiv_handschalter and nicht_aktiv.
NAVI_AUSSTATUNG has two settings :-
high_guiding and low_guiding.

I would assume navi is to do with navigation. I have program that reads the trace files and can tell what parameters and functions are available.

attached , I've checked it on the bimmerforums.net and some one advised to use v3.10.0 instead of V3.08.0 , so I will try it once I'm back home ..also INPA gives error every time I click on E60 , it said " Can't find configuration C:\INPA\bin\..\E60.eng "

The M Hud settings work for me but I lose one of the 2 steering wheel buttons in the iDrive menu (The star and Diamond)

aktiv, aktiv_handschalter and nicht_aktiv. --> activ_handschalter didn't improve the current situation...still no MHUD after 30sec

high_guiding and low_guiding. --> nav directions didn't show on HUD anymore with the setting set to high. reverted back to low.

So, do you get the M setiings (Mview) on i drive to stay activated ? So on your HUD you can alternate between your normal HUD and the Mview - correct ?
would appreciate if you could post or pm me your CAPPL and HUD trace files so I can check out your settings
Just save a copy and add ".txt" at the end.
