My Ride: 2009 535xi NAV, Cold Package.
Hey 5ers! I ordered my Cob tuning unit and it will be in this week. I have my 2008 535xi which its going into. I curious if anyone has had any Pro's any Cons I should know about.
My car is factory no mods as of yet.
Plans for performance Mods: Intake, Exhaust, and Blow off Valve.
Thanks.

Let me know how you like it. I'm considering one myself. I'm just a little concerned because I still have a year left on the factory warranty then the CPO warranty kicks in. I don't want to take chances with that since these cars seem to have a history of problems. You can do some reading on a couple of other forums I've found:

I have warranty, as matter of fact I have 100,000 miles and I just got it, so I understand you can simply load your factory map back on and if anything happens. From the feedback i've read.
I know my mods might void warranty.

Ok so today, I got that nice shiney blue box from Cobb Tuning via Modbargains.com! Oh yah. So there is some good news and some bad news.
Good news is : Today I received it one day earlier than I should have received it and it is all there.
Bad news is: I receieved it and I plugged it in into my OBD2 Port and it doesn't work. Seems my ECU is not capatible.
So i called Cobb Tuning Customer service and did the steps they asked me to do, which simply was save a copy of my factory ECU settings and export them to my desktop and send it to them to get the map created so I can load it on my car. (2009 BMW 535xi) He told me it would be done in 1 day, while the response from the email confirmation said 5 business days. Hopefully Cobb is cool and gets to me sooner than later, i'm still excited and looking forward to getting the flash done. I did check out the demo setting on the Cobb Access port, has a lot of nice features that I can't wait to play with.
Keep you all posted.

Ok good news! Cobb got my update done to the Cobb Tuning firmware and mappings to work with my ECU.
I uploaded Stage 1 First map agrresive. Took about 25 minutes to flash completely. Then went for a spin, all I can say, wow! There are a few more maps included for stage 1 which I'll be trying.
Its all there, no sputter, no misfires (so far) and its clean aceleration. Gains not sure but it def feels 100hp, only Dyno will tell.
Its also nice to drive around in also, if I don't floor it, I get equal MPG's. I run 93 octaine so its smooth so far, it only requires 91.
Let you know tonight after i flash with second map.

I picked up about 2-3 mpg on a trip to Phoenix when I installed the tune. I was crusing around 80.
Cobb is great.
