i've felt the delay in all of my BMW's.
it was by far the worst in my M3.
always thought it was slippage.
thank god for this forum.

should i buy the new valve from Zeckenhausen or Bav auto?

Hahaha I know lol. My friend had a problem with his transmission so I offered to pick him up from the dealership. So my friend took a test drive with the technicion and I went along and they started talking about the valve.

No worries

I don't know why the tech would lie about something like that...
I don't know anyone else who has one so I can't really give any valuable input aside from what the technician said.

My guess is that you have to remove the shifter assembly and that the valve is somewhere under the gear selector.
That's just a guess though...

Zeckenhause has DIY online.
doesn't look very complicated but i think i'll still
have a trained professional do it.

If your car is out of warranty, you shouldn't even bother buying the drilled out valve...just remove the one that's in there. The only reason they make the drilled out ones is to trick the dealership into thinking it was never removed so your warranty won't be voided.
