Is the 3M paint film worth the money if I'm not gonna keep the car after my lease?

After a 3 years, if I return the car and the bumper looks like swiss cheese, will the dealer charge me?

Keep in mind I live in NYC - parellel parking capital of the US. I'd hate to find my bumper all scratched up after parking on the street...

I'm not a big fan of clear bras. Certainly on a leased car I'd say it's not worth it, especially if it's parking dings you're worried about, since it won't protect the car from them.

Won't they at least lessen the blow on parking dings and scratches?

Perhaps for a very minor scratch, but I would think a clear bra is no match for parking damage in general.

Mine is a lease.
I figured that the $500 at lease inception was better than having to paint the hood/front bumper as a result of paint chips. I'm in New England where sand and salt are quite prevelant in the winters.

Although when I turned in my Auidi A6 2.7T I used the "sharpie" method. Thankfully the car was black.

Reminds me of when we leased houses in college--at the end of the year we used the "toothpaste method" to fill in any holes in the walls!

I agree. Clear bra is good protection against bugs and small gravel. That's about it, IMO.

Pointless for a leased car IMO.
