I have some aluminum shadow interior trim. However, it looks too plain and I don't like the feel of just the bare metal. What I want to do is add some CF Di-NOC trim to the trim per say and then having the whole thing clear coated so that it will feel smooth and the aluminum will have some shine to it. Has anybody done this? How will the clear coat behave on the CF wrap. I figure the clear coat will also prevent the wrap from lifting if someone rubs the edges as well.
Thanks,
Balbs

I've tried adding clear to the stuff but it didn't look right. Perhaps I needed to do more coats? Maybe someone else has tried it?
You can try to wrap a piece of wood and spray clear on it.

Thanks, but I think spraying on wood is different from aluminum or one with CF wrapped on sections of it. On that note, what's the best automotive clear coat in a can?

I am going to do this next week. I'm wrapping everything and letting the bodyshop clear it twice. Should look good

I did a test run with this. It didn't work out so well. The CF wrap (3M Di-noc) started to lift at the edges. Maybe I put the coat on too heavily, I don't know. I'll try again and wait longer between coats.

Yep, similar to what happend to me. Maybe apply VERY small coats and try to build it up.
