Anyone got this on their E60? Was at a dealer today where most of the cars had this for a markup to $750US (OUCH)...

I opted for the Venture kit over the BMW 3M kit. The local car club had better experience (long haul) with Venture. The cost was 575 USD installed, guts, feathers, and all. The Venture product has a six year warranty against fading and yellowing. They recommend waxing.

I just cleaned the bugs off from a 500+ mile bashing with a nylon mesh. Put another coat of Rejex over it and will head out for a 2000 mile jaunt tomorrow. May post some bug pictures if I can get some good 120 mph Gulf Coast smashings. Another neat thing is that if you don't clean the bugs off right away, the remains won't eat holes in your paint.

I have the clear bra. I wouldn't live without it on New England roads.

So is the consensus Venture over the 3M/BMW kit?

I was just thinking yesterday that I should post this same question. I'm thinking about getting this also. My BMW Dealer quoted $500. I thought that was expensive, but I guess compared to the $750 someone else was quoted it isn't that bad.

If anyone has it, can you please post some pics? I have the Black Metallic paint, and just can't decide on this one...

Do a search for "clear bra" on the forum and you'll find extensive information/pics on my clear bra installation. (my previous name was Silver4evr).

I did a search on the E60 Forum for "clear bra", and this and one other thread came back. Wierd.

My mistake. The default date parameter is for only the last 30 days. I found a few more....

I had a clear bra installed in December (got the car in late November). My dealer uses "Stongard" which is a 3M product I think. I'm happy with how it has performed so far. Looks just like it did when they installed it. I got a partial install and I think it was around $400 for the front hood, mirrors, side of the bumper and under door handles.

But you know you can't protect the whole car. I just noticed a rock chip mid-way up the hood..now I need to touch it up (sigh).

Sorry to read abour your chip on teh hood. Nothing is more depressing than seeing the first blemish on the Ultimate Driving Machine.
