No don't ever go through car wash with aftermarket wheels as the machine that grabs your wheel will pull it through which ended up scratching both lips on my driver side.

i never had problem in car wash with that rims on...
but i would prefer do hand wash.
you can use wheel cleaners but can damage the clear coat if your rims are hot....
so the best way to wash rims are soap and water. i use microfiber to wash them

Is car was soap safe though it wont damage the rims? I brought it through the car wash once the other day and it was fine, but just worry about the chemicals they use on the wheels.
if they or you use chemical on a hot wheels, the chemical reaction would be faster so so there might be more chance for them to get damaged...
so best way to wash mrr wheel is when it is cold and use soap and water.... unless you want the clear coat to start peeling off.

Menzerna makes a wheel cleaner that does not have a very strong PH. I will be using this when I put my RD Sport wheels on this spring.
