I've got the 2010-1 version of the NA maps for my CCC (DVD Nav) and that one already consumes 2 DVD-DL disks (Approx. 14gig). With the enhanced level of detail on the CIC version, I can see why the file is even larger. I hope Patryk can install this for me before my CIC leaves Europe.
What protocal are you using Nelson, is Patrk hosting an FTP site? Hopefully you're not dealing with the Torrents for this.

Nelson, the button swap was exactly my thinking. You got a good deal. Most of the pre-LCI climate controls are $300+ on eBay and as you probably know, realoem lists theirs for $700+. Bdw, if anyone is interested, a Kijiji seller here in Toronto has three listings, each for a new 5 Series M cluster and (pre-LCI) climate controller. He's asking $300 CDN for both. If only I had seen this sooner. I ordered a KM cluster from the UK so that I could retrofit the LEDs to white. The climate control will do pre-LCI E60 owners no good with this CIC mod though, we now need the LCI version controller

Also for those that really want the new controller, here's another option. You can elongate the opening in the pre-lci center console, this is what a e90post member did. You will have to have the proper tools. i though about doing this before but i dont have the balls to cut the trim. It the trim was leather i would have chosen this route.

Just a general question regarding the wiring for the new idrive controller. If you upgraded your standard mask idrive controller to the new CIC multifunction controller, is it all plug and play? or do more wires/connections have to be installed/altered?

I know base on the build date of the car some coding might be needed for older cars to recognize the new controller.

Ah right, so if the CIC was purchased pre-programmed for the controller, then it would become plug and play. Shame you cant purchase the extra idrive surround pictured in the m3 post, as this would make modifying the existing trim much more of a possibility

I saw that install earlier this week. Patryk knows the guy, he lives in Germany. He told me that the guy is an expert on the BMW bus.
Btw I ordered the bracket and trim for the controller, should be here in 2 weeks.

Awesome project! Wiring seems to be a nightmare but that would be the fun of project like that ... I like how he use wood block to mount the CIC
