The car should always be coded after installing new hardware. Even if the CIC unit comes precoded the other modules in the car should be coded to make sure they will "recognize"
the CIC correctly.
Getting a precoded CIC and installing it without the car being coded after the CIC is fitted is not correct although most of the features might seem to work fine.
We ALWAYS perform the coding of the car after the CIC is installed!

Hi, i am going into this, for now only one question arises; i am thinking at first to keep the pre-lci climate control and then change to the LCI one when everything is working perfectly, and also for money reasons. will i have reduced functionality while i am on the pre-lci climate setup?, i read somewhere the CiC climate configuration screen is merely an informative screen with no possibility to configure air direction/power/temperature, heated seats, profiles, etc.
Thanks.
Thanks.
In other words you will still be able to do everything that you can do directly from the pre-AC panel but nothing that needed the CCC.

Heated seat changes are possible on the pre-LCI AC with CIC. What is not possible is changing the air flow and vents. The reason for this is all that functionality was built into the LCI AC panel itself and so the CIC didn't need it any more.

I know what you feel and I am sorry.
Nelson is the best example that it can be done on E60 successfully, but in his case he had his car updated by a dealership before installing this retrofit and he had a cable so I could do everything remotely.
By the way, having a cable is a good thing because I can always code some other things for you and help you with some issues not related to the CIC you might have in the future.
Regarding your Bluetooth, there is a separate module so it has to work the same as it worked with the CCC.

Also, if my car is below v32, would you be able to update it remotely or do I have to take it somewhere local to me?

My car is pre-LCI, if I get the LCI climate control, is it plug-n-play or will it need coding?
