I just did my first real distance driving with the new unit, about 7hrs today. I have to say the CiC is leaps and bounds better than the CCC. We were able to enable traffic on my car as well, and being able to use the updated navigation made the whole trip a lot nicer!

Sorry for the mediocre quality, forgot to charge the battery on my digital camera so all I had was my phone. Let me know if you want better pictures of anything, I'll be happy to grab them with the real camera later tonight.
A few things I learned from doing this install. First get your self a battery tender, very handy for doing the coding and the map upgrades, plus its a nice thing to have around. Second get a set of BMW tools. I bought mine where I got a speaker upgrade for my center channel (also worth doing IMO) and I can't tell you how much time it saved me. The kit I bought has a few tools for pulling the dash apart that save an incredible amount of time and don't risk scratching the interior. Well worth the $15 or so I paid.
And yeah, I'll probably do the combox, providing its not ridiculously expensive, and I can get committee approval from my wife
I am a bit of a sucker for technology in my cars.

I think all told it was about 4k, but the m6 is a bit more expensive because of the different trim. I also did the Voice control and updated my climate control with a new module because I couldn't find one on ebay.

I did it yesterday! 
And the new nav looks brilliant.
Now I just need a coding session with Patryk and adjust the CIC to my vehicle.
Unfortunately my office laptop has a 64-bit operating system, which cant be used for remote coding.
So I need to free from dust my old private laptop with Windows XP.
So far many thanks to Patryk for your comprehensive support.
My CIC arrived on Friday and I used the bad weather yesterday to do the retrofit.
Based on the perfect instruction in this post installation worked like a charme.
I needed 1.5 hrs in total and waisted 0.5 hr for finding a good way for the USB cable into the glovebox.
But at the moment I'm not satisfied with my solution.
How did you guys installed your USB cable? Is there a way behind the glovebox into the back of the nav tray?
Btw has already somebody found/ordered the P/N for the glovebox back with this blind cover for the USB connector installation, like OEM CIC have?

As it turns out I actually took a picture of my USB port which I routed around back of the glove box and through an opening I found. If we could change the panel with the insert for that USB connector, it would sure clean things up. It wouldn't be too hard to track down what we needed.

Which tactic did you use to find your way - e.g. a lamp or a solid wire or something else?
Just reckoning: maybe the USB connector plugs in the place where you have your tiny BMW lamp at the moment.
So you would either have the USB connector or the lamp.
Can somebody confirm this?

One of my customers found some nice place to install the USB port. He removed the flashlight and bought part #18 (P/N: 51168161589):

You can drill a hole in this piece of plastic to mount the USB port.
