Crome is so so 2002. Its like wearing a gold chain. It's over...don't do it. Unless you want a camry than its ok.

I used to be all shadowline trim, but then saw a lot of the murdered e60's here, and kind of turned off to it. Maybe if I was 22 (26 now) it'd be better but I think that contrast gives it a bit of maturity.

I may still switch (my chrome is a bit oxidized), but not for a while.

I'd love to matte out my chrome window trim and kidneys. There's a clear PlastiDip product that is used to give a brushed aluminum look, but it's not carried in the store where I live. I may order a couple of cans and give it a shot.

Here's a youtube video of it

Kidneys look better painted body-color than black, though. That's what I did.

Looks great on a silver/grey car, as that contrast is important. Contrast is lost on the black cars when you black out the chrome.

But to each his own.

Agree that on a light colored car the contrast looks great in black. But on a black car you loose the contrast and lines of the car.

pjinca: The purchase may be happening within a week. I'll PM you to discuss the details of swapping the trim styles.
