[/quote]I ordered mine from CircleBMW in NJ, and my quote was about $60 per side. So total was about $120.

I know there's a few posts on this topic, but does anyone have any instructions on how to replace them? Im coming from an e39 540i so it was fairly easy to replace with ///M5 grills, but from the posts, replacing he grill son the e60 are much more difficult.

Hi all
I am new to this post. I wanted to give some brief info
about my grill replacement.
Just replaced my 2005 530i black grills with 545i chrome grill.
I purchased from pacificbmw (mail order) for 48.07 a piece.
It is hard to get a price better than this in my opinion.
Regarding taking out old one, make sure you remove the
hard plastic piece with weather strip. Just pull it up starting
from one end to the other. It is attached with several clips (no screws).
This will give access to top grill clips.
Also remove the removeable bumper-grill in the lower/central part of the
bumber. It is body colored so hard to notice that it can be removed.
This will give much needed access to grills from the inside.
It is also clipped onto the main bumber (no screws) but you
cant just pull it out. Pry the clips open from the back
then pull out. No problem.
Also when prying the kidney-grill clips, push on the central part of the
clips becos pushing on the main clip flap does not help.
When you pry one clip, push out that part of grill a little
so that that clip does not re-close and then continue in same fashion
with other clips.
Refer to other posts for additional info.
Hope this helps someone.

I just say break off the side clips. They are worthless, and just get in the way. It will make future removal easier without them.
The top clips are easy to get by removing the rubber moulding that seals the engine compartment. The bottom clips can be reached directly through the grill slats.

I did not want to break any clips since I intend
to sell grills on ebay. But if not, then I agree
it is probably easier to break them.
Once I had the lower bumber-grill out I was able
to open the side clips by simply pushing on center
of clip with my finger tips.
Having the opening in the lower bumper allows me to apply
more force by hand.
