My Ride: '07 525i - Black/Black
This week, I purchased my first BMW - a 2007 525i. So far, I love the car; I just have one small problem. The "off" button in my climate control is chipped. I took the vehicle to my local dealer, who told me that they don't sell the specific button; they only sell the entire climate control unit (>$900).
If I can find this button somwhere, is it possible to remove the chipped button, and install the new one? And if so, are there any stores that sell it? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have no idea if you can just purchase that button...
That would totally annoy me if I had to stare at a chipped button all day! I feel for you man!

Check out bavauto.com (I think that's their website). They specialize in selling used / junk yard BMW parts.
I'm sure you can find it there. Good luck man, and welcome.
For a second I thought you had some strong fingernails or something.

Holy crap man! I have the EXACT same problem. I was even going to create a topic about it. Apparently it happend right after my new bumper was installed. I guess the jackass who got in my car had to break it. I've never even touched the climate off button and the one times its in a shop they chip it off!
I went to the dealer like you and was quoted $1000 for the entire climate control!!

Does anyone know how the button is connected to the unit? I don't want to pull it too hard and break off any more of it.
