I am getting ready to install 167 wheels on my 04 530i and I am concerned that the stock brake and rotor set up will look terrible since they will be exposed with these wheels. I wanted to know what is the least expensive brake and rotor set up that I can change to? I do not need super high performance brakes and rotors, I am more concerned with the look. Cross drilled would be preferred.

If someone can provide photos that would be great.

thanks for your help

JBT Brakes. Ping Vegastrashed. He had them on his 545 and they were cheaper than Stoptech and Brembo.

The JBT BBK are still on my old 545i. They'll set you back at least between $4500 - $5000. I'm not sure if the front 8 pot calipers will fit the 167. The rear 4 pot barely, within 1mm, fit the 124 wheel when I borrowed torquey5's 124 wheel after I blew out a tire on my VR02s.

Also, freed0m was selling his Brembo BBK just last week for $2500. It's sold now. You missed it by a week.

Yup, the Brembo 8 pot calipers will clear the 167s, no problems. Torque5 have some pics of it, may be he'll be nice and post some pics of the 167s w/ 8 pot

IMHO ... the braking system (pads & rotors) is not where you want to go bargain hunting .

If you are interested in adding some gee-whiz look at those brakes try caliper paint in a matching or contrasting color (red looks pretty nice if your wheels are open enough to permit the caliper to show). I've seen caliper covers, somewhere on the Internet, that mimic Brembo's or such. Cross-drilled or slotted rotors are available from OEM manufacturers and are usually priced only slightly above conventional items. However, the "look" is often accompanied by additional noise and accelerated pad wear . One last point, Hi-Po brake systems are designed to operate best when HOT ... not in day to day street driving where braking temps stay "cool".

Do you know whether or not the M5 rotors will fit the caliper and pad setup of an '06 530 sport, shod with M166's?
