My Ride: 2011 M3 Competition Package, 2006 M5
Default

I purchased a 2007 550i in November 2006 (4 months ago) and my car came with OEM 18" wheels. I am interested in putting a set of either 19" or 20". The problem is that it is my daily and family car and don't want a harsh drive, although I would like a more agressive look. (I have a 2003 M3 with 19" wheels), I love sport cars. Really interested in wider wheels in the back than in the front (of course). I prefer BBS style wheels, also I would like to maintain the same tire circumference to keep the car same height. Any suggestions? Please, post some images. I haven't found enough 5 series photos with 19" or 20" wheels. Thanks!

First off, welcome to this forum. Nice car you have there.
if you go to gallery section, you'll see a bunch of photos with aftermarket wheels.

welcome. there are many choices, it all depends on pretty much what you want. you could also go with oem's in addition to any other aftermarket brand. im running on the 128s. the most popular oem wheels i would say are the 166s (seen on 61mac11's e60, which is also one of my favorites) and the M6 167s. good luck and enjoy the forums.

Welcome to the board. I do not think that you will give up your ride quality if you move to 19".
I have gone from 17" to 19" with no problems.

You should stick with BMW wheels to ensure a nice hubcentric fit.

A lot will have to do with your quality of tires. The low profile tires that are normally used with the 19" setup will satisfy your request to keep the car at the same height.

Welcome to the forum...

If you go to non-run flat tires you will not sacrafice any ride quality no matter how big you go. I have 20"s on my 550i with no issues...use my car every day for at least 90 mile commutes and also have 2 car seats in back! Good luck in your decision, there are way too many wheels to choose from!!!! I'm looking forward to seeing your future pics!!
