Hi all!
Finally received the ipod Retrofit kit today from Schrulog, and will install it tomorrow and update about it in the forum soon!
Inspired by this theard here about the LED bulbs in the LED taillamps :
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=66063
I would like to know if i can install "1156 39 LED Bright Wide View Angle" bulbs shown below to my 2008 LCI taillamps.
Bulb i want to use:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1156-39-LED...sQ5fAccessories

Bulbs that i want to replace in my lci tail lamps:

I wish to change Bulb 1,2 & 3 with the above mentioned LED bulbs.
My question is, wether i can simply buy those led bulbs and replace with the stock, without any resistors etc., and would i get any errors about the led bulbs on the iDrive?
Thanks a lot!
PS: Would i need "single Filament" bulbs or the "Double Filament"bulbs?

According to RealOEM Bulb #1 is a 21W and probably the same as 1156 I used. But I thought, in an '08 LCI, the others #2 in your picture are already LEDs.
I do not know if an LED would function without a bulb error, in your case. The aftermarket taillights I installed had several resister modules in the supplied wiring harness. Maybe Bruce Miranda, e60 tail light expert, will comment.
Good luck with your mods!

This really depends on what sort of bulbs you buy. If you get the ones which were used in the other thread for the fog lights and if that guy does not get an error then you can buy the same ones and install it with a resistor and it should work. Many LED bulbs come with the resistors inbuilt these days.

The bulb that you added to the circle area i.e. BFD in the US and fog light in the EU must have a built in resistor because otherwise you would have got an error. The Tail-light assemby that you have only have resistors for the tail and brake light LED replacement bulbs.
